Our tamariki (children) come to us with all sorts of vulnerabilities. For some, their emotional age can be very different from their actual age and may change daily as stress levels fluctuate. You will be encouraged to reflect on the structure and supervision that you currently provide to your tamariki.

This workshop will support you in connecting with your tamariki to establish structure and supervision ensuring they feel secure.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To consider maturity and immaturity, recognising the emotional age of the child.
  2. To explore how to use structure and supervision to help the child feel secure.
  3. To consider therapeutic parenting and what is an appropriate level of supervision for the child.
