In this session, we will explore the complexities of the Shield Against Shame.

Shame is a complex emotion that is part of normal, healthy development, and part of the socialisation process.

When a child experiences poor attunement and the parent does not repair the relationship, the child becomes trapped in feelings of shame without being able to regulate this emotion.

We will explore how caregivers can provide reassurance to the child that they are safe, making clear that they are loved and cared for.
