This workshop is full of strategies and tips to help you provide structure and supervision for tamariki in your care.
Looking after children with attachment difficulties is challenging for caregivers. Their emotional age can be very different from their chronological age and may change daily as stress levels fluctuate. You will explore ways of providing the correct amount of supervision at different times for your tamariki.
You will be encouraged to think about the importance of structure and supervision, tailored to the emotional functioning of the children to help them feel safe and secure.
Learning objectives:
Objective 1: To consider maturity and immaturity, recognising the emotional age of the child.
Objective 2: To explore how to use structure and supervision to help the child feel secure.
Objective 3: To consider therapeutic parenting and what is an appropriate level of supervision for the child.
