Our aim is always to ensure that our tamariki (children) are healed, not held, in care. The Foundations for Attachment programme achieves this by giving you the tools to become a therapeutic parent and to nurture your relationship with tamariki in your care. It is designed specifically for those caring for tamariki whose ability to emotionally connect has been compromised as a result of attachment problems, trauma, loss and / or separation. Understanding the child's behaviour and hidden needs from a trauma-informed perspective is essential to creating a healing environment.

The programme concludes with ongoing support meetings and telephone support for up to six months, so participants can share experiences and be encouraged to integrate what they have learned into their daily lives.

The sessions are held on the following dates:

• Session 1 14/03/2024 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM
  
• Session 2 21/03/2024 from 09:00 AM to 02:30 PM
  
• Session 3 28/03/2024 from 09:00 AM to 02:30 PM
  
• Session 4 04/04/2024 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM
  

We will help you to truly understand the inner lives of the tamariki in your care who no longer trust that caring adults will keep them safe.

You must commit to completing all four sessions and five peer support group meetings held on a monthly basis.
