Caring Families Aotearoa are delivering level one of the Levels of Integrated Family Therapy (LIFT) model in Auckland. The model includes the Foundations for Attachment programme, developed by Kim Golding based on the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice (DDP) created by Dan Hughes (2009, 2011).
The programme is comprised of one session a week for four weeks. After the four week period, we facilitate five peer support group meetings (monthly) as well as telephone support for up to six months. To gain the Foundations for Attachment certificate, participants must attend all sessions including the monthly follow up sessions.
The sessions are held on the following dates:
Changing our parental behaviours and “go-to” responses takes time and practice which is why this programme is delivered over a longer period. This gives caregivers opportunities to develop new ways of responding to challenges and learn how to parent differently. The monthly follow up sessions are an integral part of this learning along with the support group that you form as you work through the programme.
We will help caregivers to truly understand the inner lives of the children in their care who no longer trust that caring adults will keep them safe. We will show them how to become engaged with the children and guide them into a world where good care can be received safely.
Please register by Monday, 31 October 2022.
